About This Site
Trusted Motorcycle Riding is written for everyday street and touring riders who want gear that fits, protects and is comfortable enough to wear on every ride. We publish hands-on reviews, side-by-side comparisons and plain-language how-to guides covering half helmets, riding gloves, armored jackets, riding boots and Bluetooth helmet headsets, all judged on real weekend and highway miles rather than spec sheets.

Riding Safety
Motorcycling carries real risk of serious injury or death, and no piece of gear removes that risk. Always wear a helmet that meets the DOT standard (FMVSS 218) or the legal standard where you ride, and know that a half helmet leaves your face and jaw exposed in a way a full-face helmet does not. Replace any helmet after a crash or a hard drop, even if it looks fine, and follow the maker's replacement guidance as it ages.
Armor ratings, abrasion resistance and fit vary widely between products. Casual or fashion riding boots and mesh gloves are not the same as CE-rated protective gear, so check what a product is actually certified for before you rely on it. Gear that is too loose can shift in a slide, and gear that is too hot or tight can cause fatigue on long days.
Bluetooth headsets and phone use can distract you. Set up music, navigation and calls before you ride, keep volume low enough to hear traffic and sirens, and check your local laws on headset use. Never ride impaired, take a rider safety course, and stay hydrated in hot weather. Nothing on this site is a substitute for professional rider training or the manufacturer's instructions.
